Dora’s Story

cover for Dora's Story by Karen GoatKeeper

Dora is an Alpine Nubian cross dairy goat. She becomes Emily’s best friend and ushers her into the world of dairy goats. She is a grade goat and Emily is supposed to raise purebred goats. Dora is sold and sent off to other owners. Emily searches for her beloved Dora even as Dora moves from owner to owner. Simon needs her milk. Leonard needs her company. Miranda and Susanna need her help. Shawn believes in her and she believes in him. And Emily needs to let her go.

This book is very much about dairy goats touching on their care and showing them. It is written for upper middle grades up to adult. It touches on parental bullying and some animal abuse.
